Trauma in to Healing
Joan, a beautiful 28 year-old woman, was the third child in a family of four. Unlike her siblings, she endured indifference, occasional violence, and a lack of maternal affection. Her father's departure intensified the strife and hostility between Joan and her siblings, leaving her feeling rejected and traumatized throughout her life.Later, Joan met John, a young man who invited her to live with him in France. However, John's darker side soon emerged, and he became abusive, often attacking her physically and emotionally. Joan found herself trapped, with no money of her own and no life outside of John, feeling imprisoned and hopeless. When she confided in John's mother, Theresa, about her situation, Theresa empathized and helped her return to Australia, albeit with little money and no identification.Joan arrived back in Australia in a state of despair and trauma. Fortunately, she was brought to JHC, where she received weeks of inner healing and trauma recovery, assistance in reclaiming her identity, and support from Centrelink. Gradually, her healing journey began.Although Joan still faces multiple layers of healing, she has made significant progress. She is now working, contributing to the household she resides in, and serving as a dedicated intercessor at JHC. God's ability to restore and cleanse even the most challenging circumstances has been evident in Joan's transformation.God can clean and cleanse a mess His way when there seems no other way.
